She is only six weeks old. Great Pyrenees with colors. My male is solid white. The breeder has about three white males left and all the females are with colors. They are all sooo adorable and only 100 bucks! _________________ TooMiniAcres |

Thank You! Can you tell she's scared to death? She is now finally coming out and showing her true personality. I fed her some milk replacer and now she finally likes me  _________________ TooMiniAcres |

That's right those doby's don't shed much for the house. But I don't care about hair or I'd keep myself outside _________________ TooMiniAcres |

I'm confused, Joyce. I thought you already had two Pyr pups that "The Boys" were terrorizing, and that you needed a creep fence for them to go under into their doghouse.
You'll have to excuse me. I'm old ............... _________________ Character is doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching. |

Yes you are right. Unfortunately the female I have has become way too aggressive and jealous. I am sick about it but I think I will have to put her down. She's only seven months old. At first I thought it was just a problem with food, but she will not let any other animals come up to us without attacking them. She is sooo sweet and hugs us all the time. She would only make someone a good pet if they had no other pets, but I don't know if she would turn that aggression towards other family members. I still have her in a pin by herself. _________________ TooMiniAcres |

That's such a shame about the little girl. A professional dog behaviorist would be able to stop that aggression, 'tho'. She just needs reprimanding and an attitude adjustment, and lots of work. _________________ Character is doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching. |

Had another thought, too, Joyce. Does the breeder have a clause in the contract where you can return the dog to him or her if things don'wt work out? Most reputable breeders tell buyers that these days. That would be another option, if you don't have the time and/or the funds to persue a behaviorist. Euthanasia just seems like such a drastic solution. After having to put 4 Dachshunds to sleep in the past, due to their ill health, euthing them is so "final", you know? I still cry over those four. And I have two to go at some point! One's 13 with only 25% kidney function, and the other's 12. _________________ Character is doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching. |

THE BREEDER?? He had this litter with the mom & dad on some vacant land that he didn't own. Didn't look like he had a home to be honest. The pups were three months old already when we bought them. He never fed them food! They were fighting over some grain from goats that use to be on that property and poop. The pups were fighting over moms milk too. I felt like I had to take two. Didn't want them left there. But it's my fault they only cost $200. The male I got is perfect. I think we've decided to keep the problem child & she needs surgery on her eyes asap! Now I just bought this new for $100! Cheaper but she was well taken care of and actually has been eating food & nursing at six weeks. We will have to fine a Dog whisperer! _________________ TooMiniAcres |

Sound like she has decided to be YOUR guardian
instead of the critters. You fed her when she was
starving and loved her when she was neglected.
She is doing for you what you wanted her to do
for your critters. She wants to be alpha dog.
Feed her first. Speak to her first. Pat her first.
Then take her on a lead to see the other critters.
And praise the fur off her when she behaves.
She will probably protect you with her life.
Not such a bad thing if you are the boss
and teach her, her place. _________________ Vote for Maxine. She makes the most sense.. |

Thanks Mcbunz for pointing that out to me. This dog just craved hugs from day one! She just moans the whole time she's huging and drooling.
She is a sweetheart to us! Can't part with her, so we will deal with her. _________________ TooMiniAcres |

Great advice, Adie! Alway remain the Alpha Dog, Joyce. Once she gets her eyes operated on, she'll probably imrpove in her disposition, too. _________________ Character is doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching. |
