Haha, I haven't been hiding, really, just been very busy. Last week I was getting Tack ready to take to a Tack Swap-Sale at Stony Plain on Sat.
My sister came down and we went together, she makes training equipment, similar to Parelli's stuff. We are both in bad shape physically, with our backs etc. and I had asked the lady in charge of the sale if there would be anyone to help with packin in and out and she said they had lots of help to not worry. We get there and we are located in the basememnt area of the Community Centre, down 2 flights of stairs, no help anywhere to be found. We managed to get our stuff down there, but after about 3 trips up and down those stairs Brenda was about done-in and I'm just too stubborn to quit so finished getting it all down there. We set up and what a crowd there was. No Mini people though, mostly English riders and dressage people, so I didn't do very well for sales naturally, but better than I had anticipated. Brenda didn't do too bad, but could have been better, but we weren't complaining. Then came time to pack up and I started dragging stuff up the stairs and got about halfway up with my first big tote and nearly conked out, a couple gals that were packing out their stuff came to my rescue and helped take out my 2 big totes and packed the rest. Brenda managed to take one load up and I told her to stay up on the first landing and I went up part way and handed the stuff to her and bu relaying it that way we managed to get it all packed out and in my truck, no offers of help from the staff at all. But they sure were in a hurry to get the tables folded up and chairs stacked and put away. So have been basically recouperating from that. Brenda just went back home this afternoon.
On Tuesday I had a housefull of unexpected company, but we were taken out for supper, so that was nice.
I spent most of the week making stuff for my sister, so has been hectic around here. Now I am back to myself again, so have time to do my own thing.
I brought my old mare (Honey) in yesterday as she is bagging up and am expecting to see a foal about Easter. Was checking my other mares this afternoon and Peanut is bagging up too, so will bring her in tomorrow. She was bred in early June and came back and was bred early July, so shouldn't have been due till either early May or early June, but last year she came in 3 weeks earlier than her due date and might have caught on her first breeding since she is bagging now, so I've been figuring to see about when the possible date could be, from her time last year and she could foal as early as April 18. So will be doing the mare stare here pretty soon.
