Cattle ear tags..My farrier said he uses cattle fly tags on his horses..would that work on minis?? I know I wouldn't use them on mares..but maybe the boys?? Are they too strong for minis?? Anybody know??

cattle tagsI braid and tie them into their manes and tails. I haven't had a problem...yet.

I do use them on the pregnant mares, but not while they are nursing foals. I don't want the foals coming into eye or mouth contact with them.

cattle tagsIt sure does look like them... That reminds me, I should be picking some up soon. The weather here has been outstanding, and although that makes me happy...I know it won't be long before those nasty blackflies are out in full force.

Heya Crocker's how do you braid them in??
They used to make a button style fly tag but we haven't used them in years (on cattle). Have no idea if they would work...
But speaking of ear tags...grrrr I hate this dang id system !@##@% OK I'll butt out now....

cattle tagsI just put a few lengths of yarn through the tags "loop", and braid that into the tail and mane, tieing the yarn in a pretty little bow when I'm done, so they are easily removed for shows and such.
