Cole is back from CampThis year for the year end school trip Cole (my oldest son) went to Camp MaKenzie. Being that Malakwa elementary is so small there were only 2 classrooms...K-2 and 3-7. Cole is in grade 3 and was able to go..usually it's only the grades 6 and 7 that are able to go for the over night trips.
They were gone for 2 nights and 3 days. He had a blast, did everything from canoeing, and rock climbing, to rope walks and fire pit stories.
It was hard to see them go...this was his first overnight trip with the school, but I knew he would have fun.
Next week they get to go to the waterslides...Woo Hoo!
Last year they had the use of a 3 floor houseboat for their year end for the day. It's a good way to end the year.

lol, they asked me if I wanted to go to chaperone and I was like ...
vacation with 30 kids....hmmmm I don't think so...
LOL...I'm just kidding...they did ask me but I couldn't cause Ethan is still at home and there would not be anyone to look after him and get him off to school. Tony gets up at 4 am to go to work, so I couldn't do it anyway.

It was good for both of you for him to "leave the nest" for a few days. Builds his independance. I remember going to church camp for a week when I was 12. I didn't want to leave the camp! I was one of those kids who never got homesick when I went someplace, even at a young age.
