Cole is back from Camp

This year for the year end school trip Cole (my oldest son) went to Camp MaKenzie. Being that Malakwa elementary is so small there were only 2 classrooms...K-2 and 3-7. Cole is in grade 3 and was able to go..usually it's only the grades 6 and 7 that are able to go for the over night trips.
They were gone for 2 nights and 3 days. He had a blast, did everything from canoeing, and rock climbing, to rope walks and fire pit stories.
It was hard to see them go...this was his first overnight trip with the school, but I knew he would have fun.
Next week they get to go to the waterslides...Woo Hoo!
Last year they had the use of a 3 floor houseboat for their year end for the day. It's a good way to end the year.

Makes me want to go back to school. At least for year end stuff....

lol, they asked me if I wanted to go to chaperone and I was like ...
vacation with 30 kids....hmmmm I don't think so...
LOL...I'm just kidding...they did ask me but I couldn't cause Ethan is still at home and there would not be anyone to look after him and get him off to school. Tony gets up at 4 am to go to work, so I couldn't do it anyway.

It was good for both of you for him to "leave the nest" for a few days.  Builds his independance.  I remember going to church camp for a week when I was 12.  I didn't want to leave the camp!  I was one of those kids who never got homesick when I went someplace, even at a young age.

I went to Circle Square Ranch when I was a kid...I had a blast! There was horse theory, horse parctical, BMX course, Capture the Flag, Archery...all kinds of fun.
I'm glad I let him go,he had a lot of fun.
