Cow manesyay! We get to think of cow names for Joyce!!!!!
What color are they?
Here are the normal ones:
Bossie, Daisy, Missy, Eleanor, Suzie, Flower etc.
Here are the names a friend of mine used to help her not get attached to them: Hamburger, Sausage, Chop steak 
I'll think of something more interesting and post it later. I'm sure others will have ideas, too!

Blinds--she is black with white circles around both eyes
Pepsi
Mouse and her heifer Minnie
H.B. I might offend someone if i told you what that stands for in public 
Blackie, real original huh
Big red
Light red
Stub, our black angus bull
Ajax, previous black angus bull
Black Jack, previous black angus bull
Lucky
most of the rest are just "bossy" as up here that is how we call our cattle.

My husband said if we ever get cattle we would name them Sirlon, Stewy, so I would not forget why we really bought them. We would never buy a cow - calf pair because I would never let it go to the butchers/packers.
As a child we owned the most beautiful Jersey cow with big brown eyes and one day I came home from school and she was gone. I didn't eat beef till I was a grown teenager and not living on the farm any more. I do eat beef now but I really do not want to own it then kill it.

Well that gives me some ideas about names. Thanks ladies
I will post a picture of them soon. The two heifer girls I am keeping. So I could name them. I was thinking one could be Bessie & the other something else. My Grandmothers name, a twin Bessie & Tessie .. Why name them after my Grandma? .. I have NO idea 
Right now they all come to Here Kitty Kitty

Joyce how often does the cows have to get their hooves trimmed? And does you horse hoove timming guy do cows hooves?

Well Pat, I really don't know anything about cows yet. Do we have to get their hooves trimmed? And NO my Farrier doesn't even show up for my horses to get trimmed. Hasn't shown for over a month now.
So far all I know is we got the bulls cut, had all of them wormed. I refused the growth hormones, I want to keep them as natural as possible for organic beef and finish them off with grain. This will not be easy they are so darn cute. Ate out of my hand today .. darn so much for not looking at them.
