We did have sun here in CT but not as warm as you. Rather windy too so felt colder than it was. Good to see the sun after all our rain.

We had nice weather here yesterday ( Sunday ), but a valve on our pump blew and we were without running water all day ( and so far today ). Plumber came out and took the valve home with him. He's going to try to find another one at his parts supplier today and then get back here to put it on. We're using bottled water for flushing, brushing teeth, and doing dishes, as well as for drinking. No biggie . it's like camping out, only with electricity.

Still doesn't sound like fun. When we were in a straight winds storm in Wisconsin, we went with out power for two weeks with no well. I had to dip buckets of water from the pond. carry them up to the loft to flush the toilet. I could not use the toilet comfortably with little critters swimming in it from the pond water. I was not a happy camper!

LOL Joyce! I'm basically a rustic person. We had no power for 18 days back in 1990, I think. We had an ice storm and the power was out. It was March, and we used our kerosine heater to heat the house and to heat jugs of water for bathing, coffee, cooking, etc. I used my oil lamps from bygone eras and had a blast. I used the water from the melting ice in the ditch to flush the toilet. My more "civilized" husband didn't like it after a few days, and Heidi didn't care one way or the other. I guess to keep this post on this part of the forum, I should mention horses. My neighbor's horses were fine, since he has a hand pump.

Yes I know .. I though I was a rustic person living in that log cabin for three years. Our garage was bigger. I had all my kerosine lamps too, also had wasps, bats and snakes, all my not so favorites, but I am sooo over it. Horse forum ..... I had no horses at the time, neighbor's did
and I was feeding them because they were so neglected... Horse forum
