Effects of price increases on horsesWell, the one I have in mind isn't devastating, but it's sad to me.
No watermelon this year.
Used to buy watermelon just for the horses! Now it costs over $5.00 for a little bitty watermelon. About half the size of the big ones last year.
Hoping that our garden canteloupe grow lots so that at least they'll get the rinds and seeds from that. They LOVE canteloupe!
Sad about the watermelon, though. Maybe have to splurge once in August or something just to hear them slurp and smack their lips!

I tryed watermelon on mine... They must be meat and potatoe kind of horses. They didn't like it.. They want crushed oats and horse crunch.. and
anything that tastes like grain..
Mine won't be getting any car rides no matter how much they beg...LOL
Getting 28 round bales into the pole barn this afternoon.. Wanted 50 but
will have to wait for the second cut for the rest.. Maybe a good thing.. it
is going to break my piggy bank as it is..
