Finally, some reliefWe've been brealing temperature records out there for the last while, making lots of cold water trips for the animals. no one has been into doing much, only what we have to get done. We all felt like we were going to melt, including the horses. I was out there working in the garden when a round of rain blew in  it might just be passing by with a bit of thunder, but it sure brought us all back to life again. We are thankful for any cool temps and rain we can get.
Been spending a lot of time doing cool off and mosquito spraying.
Dixie is really refreshed by a nice hose down, Coors is funny cause it's like he won't admit that the water feels good, til I'm wet, it takes me getting soaked to get him soaked, and after about the first five minutes you can see that he's thinking ...." hey, this is a good thing." then he goes about his way being his usual silly self.
It's funny to watch. 
The mosquitos are not bad during the day, it's at night that they are hungry. I do the spraying and wiping for mosquitos, only to rinse it off the next day when it's hot out.
It eats up time, but I love them and they are totally worth it

It has been crazy hot here too.. 100F right now.. You would think this was Texas or something.. Crap... this is the Great White North.. and I want some snow..  Or at least some rain...

We've been watching the lightning...had three forest fires above our place, but the rain put them out thank god. Quite the lightning show though.

I love watching lightening storms... Use to drive to the river when we lived in Edmonton to get a clear view. Forrest fires are not such a good sight..
Alberta is on high fire watch now too.. In the Journal today they have brought in fire fighters and water drop planes just in case..

The horses sure are enjoying the cool weather, we should all be able to sleep good tonight

We have had a beautiful day here...got a chance to play around whith the horses twice.
Coors really wants to show off when I take him out...WOW is he an eyecatcher the way he arches his neck and prances around so spirited
