We are only getting 28 from this cut.. Neighbours field.. 22 the next cut I hope.. and all the hay off our field.. that should more than do them for the winter. If we get some rain soon.. If Not I will be feeding hay here soon.

These guys have been on hay only..we do pick some for them, we seeded some pasture for them, but it's not fenced and we were told that we shouldn't put them on it till the grass had a year to establish. I feel bad for them, the grass is greener on the other side of the fence 
I'm too scared to teather them, that can go real bad, and I'm also scared of the foundering.
They do get lots of treats though, they really like strawberries

It won't kill them Izzy.. some mini's never see green grass.. Dixie needed to loose a pound or two... LOL

Our mares and their foals are on hay but as soon as a blade of grass pushes out of the ground it is gone. They are waiting for these old people to hurry and put the wire on there new pen. Too hot and after working all day we're beat from the heat.  This weekend I hope.

Looks pretty.
I have been feeding hay a little each day to suppliment pastures too. We might have some rain coming in sunday. Hope so!
