HowlingI'm full of questions tonight.
Anyone know why dogs howl when the ambulance siren goes by?
Does it hurt their ears? Does it sound like a howl to them?
I often wonder. Maybe someone out there knows the answer?

Pyr Girl you must be talking to yourself and just full of questions tonight LOL  Is no one listening to you?  I think Sher is on Vacation.
Sorry I can't answer any of them for you. 
My White German Shep used to howl at the sirens, the kids would make pretend siren noise just to make him howl since a little bitty puppy. As he got older we could make him howl anytime we wanted him to. Very annoying trick especially when he'd hear the real sirens at 3:00 am and he'd be howling in the house.

It probably does hurt their ears... They hear much better than we do so that
annoying siren sound that is mean to get our attention would sound even
intense to them...

Well now that I'm BACK from vacation ( lol ), I think it hurts their ears.
