My horses have become herd sweet!I took Aslan to the clinic for four days recently. Maybe that's what did it.
Now if I separate them, Moriah gets all in a toot and runs and calls, and even Aslan starts whinnying and pacing. I take them to some portable grazing areas for 2 hours each morning, and I can't walk all 3 at once so I usually move the 2 girls together and then bring Aslan on a second trip. While they are apart (for 5 minutes!) you should hear them carry on and run. I guess I'm going to have to do the separate thing more often. Aslan was even spooky while I took him to ride later in the morning. Don't know if that was caused by the separation though. Hope not. He sure was on high alert, though. I wanted them to become a good, close herd, and I guess I got my desire. Still need to be ok when apart, though. Anyone else have this situation? I'm glad they are bonded, but need to be confident apart, too.

Yes.... I had this problem with my saddle horses years ago.. The boss mare ruled the rest.. If she called they jumped.. even if they had a rider on them..
If I was riding her, she would call to the rest until we were out sight..
