Blacky is home now. Had to pick him up and put him on his favorite chair to sleep. Still droogy. Poor guy. He will thank me for this some day. I told him to stay off the highway now since i have $45.00 invested in him.

This reminds me of a poem I read when I was a kid ( It's amazing that I can remember it! Half the time lately I can't even remember my own name! Stupid menopause ...................)
Anyway, it goes like this:
"Pussy cat, pussy cat, where have you been?".
"I've been to the Vet's and back again.".
"Pussy cat, pussy cat, what did you do?".
"I've grown fat and lazy. That should give you a clue.".

You sure read a different kids book than I did when I was little..
Mother Goose must have flipped in her grave..
This is the one I remember...
Pussy-cat, pussy-cat, where have you been?
"I've been to London to look at the queen."
Pussy-cat, pussy-cat, what did you there?
"I frightened a little mouse under the chair."

Yup...Mother Goose said it first. I do like the modified version too...
I only WISH I could have them "done" for only $45 bucks. Here, it is around $90 for a male, and well over $125 for a female.

It was actually $30.00 to neuter and $15.00 for the rabies shot which you have to get. But the females are $110.00 here. Not sure why they are so much more, maybe they stay overnight? Maybe it is the extra plumbing.

You're right. It's the extra plumbing, Betty. I used to work for a Vet, and to "do" a male cat, you don't have to go inside to remove the testicles. The anesthesia is different, too. The girls have to go under with the surgery-type anesthesia, and the boys ( at least they used to 30 years ago, maybe it's different now ) just get a syringe with anesthesia that puts them under long enough to do the job. Maybe there's more to it these days, but that's how they used to do the boys back then. It's different with boy dogs, 'tho'. They get put out just like the girls 'cuz you have to go inside. Feel free to correct me, anybody, if any of this is wrong for these days.
