TracfoneOK i know everyone has a cell phone but i don't. Why is mainly because no one ever calls me anyway so i really have no need for one but i have been thinking about a tracfone because then i don't need to pay a monthly fee for something i never use. SO i bought a tracfone last monday. Need to go on the internet to activate it. No problem i can handle that. Away i went. Oops SIM card no good for my zip code area. I have to call a 800 # for help. I call and of course there is simply no way to get a human to speak to so i just stay on the line for activating the phone and after about 6 times the automated system rings a real person. OK they have to send me a new SIM card. No problem. Only took about 20 minutes total
Came in the mail today so i get right on that 800 number as i want to try out my toy. Hung around like before until the automated system gave me a human number. Hey the same gal as before. Oh did i mention i could barely understand her? Oh well she was nice and just kept repeating everything for me So i am given so many numbers to program in i can hardly get er done. Came to the last set of 12 #'s and guess what?? It seems my phone is junk. This call took a total of 45 minutes. Good thing i am not paying for the calls.
Now in 3 or 5 days i will be getting a new phone from them in the mail and i can try all over again. Hmmmm i wonder if it is worth it for something i don't need and probably won't use LOL. But i will try again when it gets here. Now i want that thing to work really bad.
Hubby is just laughing at me. Shame on him!

It is like a cell phone only it will cover only a certain area which in my case is all of MN, WIsconsin and Iowa, and you use a prepaid phone card so you don't have a monthly charge, just the prepaid minutes.

Oh O.K. I was thinking of doing that. I never
leave my cell on so nobody can call it. Never
learned how to get the messages, which my
mother still puts on it even though I have
told her any number of times we don't check
for messages. Just have it in case we have
trouble on the road.

I've been thinking of getting one, too. Let us know if you ever get it going.
I'll probably try and get a more modern computer first, though. I can't even access the photo site for this forum on the one I have now. Says my browser is too old.
Makes me feel my age.
I'm not browsing as fast anymore either

That's right Sher!
My mother has a cell phone she got just recently... as first she never had on and then complains because no body ever calls it.... now it's on but she doesn't know how to check her messages
She wanted it in case of an emergency. Sometimes I just call her on it to make her feel good about getting to use it.
