See that mess they made on my blanky? Now I have moved them to hay & straw in the playpin. Their little heads look rough where they burned the horns. I will never be able to do that. They look so cute in person.

Not that bad of a mess just raisins and a wet spot. Very cute goaties and a great addition to your herd. When I see your goat babies it almost makes me want to find a Willie for my Pebbles and Patches. But it is alot of extra work which I really do not have. They will stay just our pets till they pass away and that will be awhile as they are still young.

I know what you mean.. I bought the electric dehorner and couldn't use it.
And I was afraid of the caustic paste.. so afraid it would get in their eyes..so
if they had horns they kept them..

Breeders tell me it's easy, but it looks painful and I would not want to cook those little heads if I did it wrong. Even my vet didn't want to do it.
That paste is scary too.

You could borrow my Willie for Pebbles & Patches LOL You're right they do take up a lot of time. But they are just too darn cute. should have more in January I will need to find a escape proof place for Slick Willy for next year.

OHhh! they are so cute!!
And pretty blue eyes.
I agree -- put the in-laws outside and keep the goaties inside!
I couldn't do the horn thing either. But it sure is easier when they don't have the horns and they are bigger. Hope it heals really fast.
Do they have names yet?

Ha ha yes Billy would not have been able to do so much damage if he didn't have his horns
I'm keeping the names the owner used. Apricot is the name of the little red & white one because her mother is Peaches LOL She's full blood Nigerian Dwaft. We have to keep it in the fruit family The Pygmy cross Dwarf is Chloe, don't know why

Have you ever herd of putting elastics on their horns?....I don't know how well it works, but a dairy farmer down the road does it with his goats. I never tried it. He used the same elastics as the ones they use to casterate. Apparentley it doesn't hurt them...does anyone know anything about it?

Do you mean he uses those bands to remove the horns? I have read about using bands, but then also read once the horns are there you're stuck with them?? Blood running through them or something? So I don't know. If the farmer down the road uses them, I would like to know more details, if it actually works and what else is involved.

Maybe Adrien could if he didn't stink bring him back on the plane. Pebbles and Patches would look after him or he would look after them.
