What do you say to people....This older fellow came up to me at a show yesterday..asking me if it was "OK" to turn his 5 month old colt out with his mares..he wanted them bred for next year.
I am sure he couldn`t care less about what he was putting together, just males and females to him....I tried to be polite and tell him that I would not breed any stallion or mare till they were at least THREE. He looked so shocked at me.
I asked him what his hurry was...(politely I thought) and he just walked away. Jerry told me maybe because he was really OLD...
Sometimes I just wish they wouldn`t even ask me questions. I know they are anxious to "produce" and the market has plenty of good ones now let alone ones that will probably not have their papers or be of any kind of quality...PEOPLE>>>>

Talked to a man who bred his mare indiscriminately once. He just wanted to "see what I get." Well, he got one of those sad little white horses that die immediately. I forget what they call it.
He was talking to me afterward and said, Well, it wasn't anything lost because now he didn't have to pay for the baby's upkeep and he'll just breed her again. I said, "That was pretty hard on the poor mare. You could have saved yourself and her the trouble by having a test done. She spent alot of body and time to give you that answer."
He just looked at me like he'd never thought of what it cost the horse and maybe I was crazy.
