Winter ryeWith the hay shortage..been thinking to put winter rye seeds down..But I am a bit concerened about the high nitrates..OPINIONS???

Don't know the answer to that one, but I did have winter rye in my mix last year. Nobody seemed to mind. It's all gone now, though.
having to reseed and using a pasture mix from Coop this time.

Heya P..first off of cause you get the hay I hold for you.. 
The nitrates are blamed for some birth defects..so only would be a concern for pregnant mares..

Whew! That's good to hear. Those pregnant mares sure need extra special care, don't they. And thanks for holding the hay.
