I guess I don't feel so bad then. It's real cold here too, but not that cold!
This morning I was getting my hubbie off to work, when I noticed that our water was almost completely froze. Only a dribble comming out . He went outside to go fix it before it was a heck of a lot more work. I made his lunch and coffee, and he was on his way. Weellll, I was going to make some coffee for me, and we were back to a trickle I was not about to go without water( can't tell the goaties the water froze and expect them to understand what I'm talking about).
I grabbed the flashlight and a lighter and was on my way( didn't bring the torch, I never used one before) Thinking I could McGyver the situation, I was on my way to the pumphouse. I made it as far as the end of the path, and the flashlight died
Then I thought to myself....a womans got to do, what a womans got to do...
Well, I didn't really know what to do, as I never did this job before.
I never used a torch before....but I thought, the worst thing that could happen was I get burned. Soooo, once again, I was on my way to the pumphouse. I lit the torch, (only having it for light as well) and wrrmed the smallest pipe comming form the pressure tank( common sense telling me it had to be the first one to freeze). I herd it fire up, and I was soooo excited...WOO-HOO!!!
I went inside to make the coffee, and the pressure was dwindling fast
It was back out into the cold once again! This time I kept the torch on there, this time making sure all of the pipes were good and warm. FINALLY, this time it worked!
I'm so proud of myself, not bad for a newbie plumber eh?
Addie....I don't know how you can stand cold temps like that, I feel like a chicken at -15 with a wind chill. The coldest temps we ever have here are around -30 including wind chill, and we only ever get that for about 1 week a year. I hope it warms up for ya |

It is only suppose to last a week here in Alberta. I am origanially from Manitoba where this kind of weather lasts a lot longer. But I am getting older and I can't take it anymore.

Darn.....even colder this morning....-36 but the wind chill is less.
The house moaned, and banged all night..not from the wind.... from the cold. _________________ I used to have a handle on life, but it broke .

Still hanging in around the -20C mark today.. Suppose to go up to -5 tomorrow but the lows are still -20's ... I am hoping this is the end of
a long cold spell.. _________________ I used to have a handle on life, but it broke .
