I have a sweet, Full Blood German Shepherd female who needs a good home. Anyone know anyone who may be interested. She would be Free but only to a good home. She is about six years old, healthy & great with kids, great with other dogs. She weighs about 90lbs. She really is a perfect dog! I have had her for two years. Her previous owner died right in front her. We had a male white german shepherd who was lonely & this female was also depressed & lonely so we took her in. They made a perfect couple and got along great. My male was killed in front of her in November and she was depressed all over again for a while.
I already have two other dogs which are in training for hered dogs. One is already working and bonding with the horses. The other one should be guarding the miniature goats and Chickens. My problem is the German Shepherd would have to be alone so I have not put the other dog with the goats yet. I feel that we aren't doing her justice. She would love to be the only dog or with another dog for a playmate. She is great in the house or outside but really doesn't know she's a dog. She is also afraid of cats, the kind that have flat faces and no weapons! If anyone is interested please contact me. Thanks

Yes C I hope I find the right home for her. I do love her, I just feel she would be happier in the right home. I will try to find a pic to post. It would be great if I could put her in with the goats, chickens & the pyrenees pup, but I just don't think a German Shepherd should be guarding chickens, especially when I feed her a lot of chicken and eggs. |

| Hey, Joyce, is there a German Shepherd Rescue anywhere around you? Maybe you could look online and find one in your state, at least. That would be the place to send her. I used to rescue Dachshunds, and I've adopted two of the Dachshunds that needed homes. Breed-specific rescues would know how to treat her right, and would find the right home for her, if they aren't like me and KEEP them instead of placing them! lol Just a thought. Many breed rescues have an "Underground Railroad", a network of people who will go after a dog, and then take it to another person along the way, who'll continue on with it, until it's at its destination. |

Thanks Sher. I have heard of them. I would worry about her and would rather either keep her or actually meet the new owners and see where she would be kept. I would be willing to drive her. She is such a big baby and very sensitive! |

I love Keecho.. she really is a perfect dog. I'd take her in a heartbeat but my 3 cats do have weapons! One even has a semi-flat face. I hope she finds a good home.
In Clarksville their animal shelter doesn't even exist really. It's a group of people who foster animals in their home because they don't have a building. They have a cat shelter tho... I guess that's a start. |
