Yes, gonna a get a shed built to store hay right next to my horse paddock!
And the best part is that I don't have to build it and my Dad doesn't.  And it will even have concrete in the ground underneath the cement blocks and be bolted down rather than just sitting there for the wind to pick up!!!

And it's costing less than having one of those premade ones delivered from Home Depot AND will have better materials used!!
Soo sooooo happy.
Already having to protect it from Mom and Dad who have ideas about what THEY want to store in it!  No room for much except hay, I keep telling them.  Trying to decide what color to paint it.  Probably green to blend it with brownish trim?
It will be 10 by 16 feet and 8 feet tall.
How wonderful to be able to keep the hay dry and then just open the door and take out a bale a day instead of having to haul it down each week in the trailer, put a tarp on it, and mess with that every day.
Last January I was having to undo 2 round bales by hand and then carry the hay down in  bags and laundry baskets.  It was hard work for a few months.  I'm a happy camper now.

Great news, Patty!  An idea to pass along to you, from my experience:  Put two or three pallets high on the floor and then put the hay on those.  I just cleaned out Lady's shed and discovered that even though I did that, plus had black plastic ( the heavy-duty stuff! ) on the floor as a moisture barrier, PLUS the same plastic on the walls, I still had hay mold over the winter because moisture got in and puddled on the floor under the pallets.  So I guess what I'm trying to say is, put some pallets down first.  The plastic didn't seem to help much, but the pallets kept the hay off the floor/ground.
  Gosh I'm windy today!

Sher, thanks for the advice.  Do you think it will still be necessary if the floor of the shed is off the ground by about 12 inches?  It's a 3/4 inch plywood floor and is up off the ground at least 12 inches.  I'm hoping no moisture will get in, but I guess it could have some condensation.  I've included two vents at the peak of the roof for air flow.  What do you think?

Ok, that does make sense.  I put it on pallets in the garage!

Yeah, using the pallets and having a floor will help.  My floor is dirt.  I thought of that after I'd posted my long diatribe!
