I'm going out to get some shavings to put down for dust control. After the horses were running around, Dixie decided to go for a roll, this is what happened
It's not bed where the shavings already are.....2 more truck loads and the whole corral will have a layer on it.

Looks dusty alright. Hope you get a nice gentle soaker that lasts all night long. _________________ Visit Bear Valley Miniature Horse Farm

| That would be nice. I'm putting sawdust down because we have a lot of clay here, and if I try to wet it with the sprinkler, it turns into a summer skating rink out there. This way it won't be slippery if I wet it down. |

Now if we could just get our acts together here. We have had rain-rain-rain for over a week now, and the long range forecast is calling for another week of it. _________________ Striving to make horses BETTER...not BIGGER!! |

We had about 2 inches on Friday/Sat. Just in time, too - it was getting really dry and dusty.
I actually enjoyed having to put my muck boots on to go and feed and took them along to visit C, too! Saw Shiloh's little sister, Maybelle - they look just alike and the wildest part is that they act the same, too! Same head motions and temperament. So cool. Drake is growing up and just gets more and more beautiful. Hope to find him a perfect home. Maybe close by so I can still go and visit. Or maybe far away with one of you guys so I can still see pictures! He's one special horse. Didn't visit all the babies because it was pretty hot and humid - nice on the porch with the fan going, but I didn't feel like trekking around too much. Is that a sign of getting older??!!! |

Glad you guys got some rain Patty... we need more here too. Seems as soon as we get rain the wind comes up and sucks it all up.. and such crazy
hot days we are getting..low 80's are normal. This 90 to 100 stuff is just
to darned much.. |

The lighting and thunder we got at our place last night blew out our main transformer and a couple more around the area. Our main transformer blew and scared the sh## out of the mares and their babies which ran away from their shelter [close by] as fast as they could run, rain or not. So about 3:30am we had flashng lights and men in near our garden looking for the problems which scared us. Because we went to bed early, when the power went out no computer or TV and was dark.
But we did get quit abit of rain which we needed here. |

I lived in Buck Creek before, which isn't far from you girls...I remember how loud the thunder is there
We had a bit of a drizzel yesterday, but lots of refreshing wind. We were standing exterior walls on the rental suite above our shop. That was a bit tough, but it was nice to not be so hot.
The mosquitos are calmed down a lot too |
